Gaining knowledge is exciting and valuable but cannot happen solely from reading; I find I learn the most from events, talks, and museums. The best part of gaining knowledge, however, is applying and sharing it.
I have compiled a list of posts which share the information I have gained from learning outside the classroom:
- The Royal Society Summer Exhibition
- Bioengineering Workshop at the Royal Institution
- Bioscience Careers Day and visiting the Gordon Museum
- Visiting the Wellcome Collection
- LYSC Forensic Workshop
I have also had the wonderful opportunity to shadow, intern, and do work experience at a few laboratories:
- Observing Marve Clinical Laboratory
- Observing Sunflower Laboratory
- Work Experience: Centre for Liver Research, University of Birmingham
In addition to this, a variety of super-curricular events and clubs have provided me with a very valuable understanding of a variety of subjects:
- International Youth Neuroscience Association (IYNA) Chapter Club
- Dissection and Anatomy Club:
- Exploring Everyday (Bio)Chemistry
